Cinema 4D

What an exciting programme!
Met up with Matt at 9:30 and he showed me some of the basics before letting me off the reign - I didn't create anything 'Hollywood' it's far too early in the game for that. I wish I had started learning this last year!

This is me experimenting with a spherical object reflecting from a HDI - with a light source.

This is a similar image with a background in, I used the clone tool to make 3 spheres instead of 1, and included a shadow by placing an omni light directly above the spheres.

I used a white glossy floor here for the reflections (this is the kind of gloss I want for my white world).

I changed the angle and got rid of the shadow for the spheres. I also toned down the brightness of the floor so the reflection is more subtle.

I changed the position of the spheres, and moved the light source.

Just playing about and created a contoured landscape...Cool!

Here I started to look at how text can be used in Cinema 4D. I have used a car paint purple floor with no walls, and the Eurostile font.

Here I was experimenting with the displacement tag - for individual elements rather than as a whole, using the floor as a solid. Using Impact font.

A screen shot from the render showing displaced text.

Another screen shot showing further displacement.

How it looks from the perspective view.

Another rendered screen shot, of the exact image above.

Showing how the text impacts with the solid.

The rendered outcome.

Using a wall.

Settings for video compression.

How Cinema 4D outputs my movie - as a series of .TIFF to be put together in sequence on Quicktime.

Experimenting with a reflective spherical object.

Experimenting with moving the camera with a target tag on the object.
