Meeting with Maya

I met up with Maya today to discuss our next pitch and how we are going to go about it:

Quotes from Duffields

Judging by the quote for Fine Art and the actual budget, there won't be much chance of Sheila having the 1500 books she was wanting! And no chance of any special finishes!

Meeting with Maya

Ready for our next pitch, Maya and I have met twice over the past 2 days to discuss our plan of action:

Follow Up Meeting

Following the meeting with Fine Art - we regrouped as a team to discuss what had just happened.
The theme seemed to be mainly annoyance, now F.A want to go back to our original stamp ideas.

- Amy hates layout - delete stroke.
- We all agreed pink wasn't working.
- OCR A Std for front cover
- Contact details in Helvetica Neue Light.

I then sat down with each team member involved with the layout so we could go through each image and check they were the right spec for the book, 23 students either needed to resubmit images or contact details. This was emailed to Rachel part of the F.A team.

Fine Art Meeting

Today, was quite a stressful meeting, it felt like as a team we weren't progressing as F.A. were wanting to go back to the older stamp designs. I did feel some of the cover designs were a bit over the top, and some virtually illegible but no one had seen these before the meeting.

- My first issue raised, as usual is missing students images/contact details. I was assured I would have these by the end of the day.

- Amy's Original Rework (Barbie style) - best so far.

- Text blocked together - no, it's like last years.

- Pattern has no point.

- Brown 'Original' Context image - develop stamp from this.

- Not handwritten font for stamp.

- Marbling effect works.

- Try rectangle ones.

- How will text work on special projects?

- Change 'Name' font.

- Like M exhibition page (white text).

- Provide them with more narrowed down ideas.

- Projects - no glitching of images.

- Where will the page numbers go?

- Full mock up for next time - one PDF.

- Too many front cover designs.

Fine Art Meeting

There is a lot of negativity within the group at the minute, it doesn't help with the client. I have discovered that a lot of the images being sent through are basically of no use, as they are really low quality. I did urge them to send TIFFs at the start due to the higher quality but no one seemed bothered. Now the shit has hit the fan and its nearly the image deadline.

Whats worse is Fine Art don't understand what we mean by 300 dpi, this is infuriating as Lorenzo offered them a workshop to make sure they sent through the correct spec for images, but Sheila declined.

Fine Art Meeting

Today's meeting was a bit of a write-off. Firstly F.A hadn't looked over the layouts together so there was nothing to discuss apart from the front cover but this wasn't ready for today, Sheila expressed her disappointment that there was no front cover or stamp but I assured the person in charge of this would have it ready as soon as possible. F.A will be looking over the layouts today so I anticipate we will have feedback by the end of today, all being well.

Fine Art Meeting

We are fast approaching the deadline and still have images missing!

We have resolved the 'extra student' issue, Khadija and Dee are the same person!

Meeting with Camilla (St Martins)

- After deciding on 3 concepts, she would like us to take them even further.
- Maya: liked handprints, when the logo was smaller it didn't have the same impact, try a different format/variation.
- Me: Colour change, don't like pastel, maybe not 4 people, too traditional. Give an impression of people but not necessarily families.

- 'Interesting shades of normal colours.'
- No pastels.
- Either NHS Blue or needs to work alongside it.
- Take ideas in several directions
- Typeface , more interesting.
- Think about incorporating values: caring, partnerships, openness.
(Circle = openness)
- 12 in clinical team

- Stripes on wall (consider colour)
- T-shirts
- Outside sign
- Business cards
- Comments, complaints and compliments leaflet front.
- Letterheads
- Signage - directional

- Email PDF 13th March

Fine Art Meeting

From this point forward Amy is in charge of the cover and spine.
Me and Kirsty are pairing up to do half of the layouts, and Nick and Nat will do the other half.

We are still waiting for the Course Ethos page!
Again, I have had to nag for missing images and statements...
