Indiependent Follow Up Call/New Brief
I spoke to the chairman of the charity today to discuss the ideas I have been feeding through, they have decided on an entirely different look and tone to the logo.
I have formulated a new brief with this:

One of the chairman's comments about my logo was that he liked the more three dimensional variations I had produced. This is something I will need to consider while designing.
